Premier Home Remodeler in The Eastern Panhandle: Humble Beginnings
In the Summer of 2001, Marty & Rita Johnson moved their family and set down roots in West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle at the golf course community at The Woods Resort in Hedgesville. Having retired from the United States Air Force, Marty revisited his dreams of starting his own business as a Home Remodeler. Leading with a passion for people and strict quality standards, Marty began as a handyman and grew the business.
Most importantly, Marty recognized and filled a gaping hole in the market for a Quality Home Remodeler and home improvement service provider, as many local builders have abandoned homeowners, chasing the dream of exclusively building new homes during the housing booms. Through the patronage of The Woods residents, many of whom maintained vacation homes and demand the quality typically only found in Metro areas, Marty grew his fledgling business into the State recognized Best of West Virginia Home Remodeler it is today.

Since taking up residence at The Woods Resort in 2001, The Woods Resort Community, with its diverse and discerning clientele, has been a key supporter of our growing business. We have to come to know so many of our wonderful neighbors through our work of Improving Lives through Home Improvement where we work and play! Building on this opportunity to interact with and improve the homes and lives of so many, our family company has grown to serve the entire Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia.
It has truly been a blessing to serve each of you whose homes we have been invited into as you invest in your home’s value and your quality of life. From simple upgrades such as new Roofing, Vinyl Siding, and Replacement Windows to full-scale Kitchen and Bath Remodeling to improve the layout and function of your home to suit your specific needs – we have improved upon well over 500 homes within the Woods Resort Community and throughout the Eastern Panhandle since 2001.
With anywhere from three to seven active projects at any given time in that community alone, that number continues to grow. Unlike any other business in this arena, we have a vested interest and passion for providing the best quality work and leaving satisfied customers in our wake.
Supporting The Communities We Serve
Recognizing the importance of giving back to the community we have always sought opportunities to maintain and improve upon our shared environment and services.
Over the years we’ve partnered with the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection Adopt-a-Highway program in providing road clean-up along Mountain Lake Road, the main thoroughfare into The Woods Resort Community. This past year we volunteered for continued maintenance of the traffic circle at the intersection of Route 11 and Route 51 in Inwood, West Virginia. We look forward to adding to that list through out the Eastern Panhandle in the years to come and welcome your suggestions!
In 2017 we worked with the Hedgesville Volunteer Fire Company, and other community-minded organizations, to design and construct habitable Living Quarters at the Mountain Lake Road Station 70, in support of reducing response times of life-saving Emergency Services for our community. This project even garnered recognition from the Home Builders Association of West Virginia, winning a Best of West Virginia Award in the Special Projects category in 2018, one of the three categories we were regonized for that year!
